The Health Information Campaign (HIC) released a statement responding to a new report release today by Media Matters' Political Correction. The report, "Perhaps It Was Ego": Judge Hudson's Quest For Glory, a exposes Virginia Judge Henry Hudson as an ambitious partisan. Monday, Judge Hudson issued his ruling that the individual responsibility provision of the new health care law was unconstitutional.

The Health Information Center (HIC) released the following statement, today, supporting the Affordable Care Act and condemning the legal challenges to the new law. Federal District Court Judge Roger Vinson heard oral arguments in Florida et al. v. DHHS et al. today in Pensacola. HIC Executive Director James Chiong attended today's hearing. He also attended the October 14 oral arguments hearing for Virginia v. Sebelius.

The Health Information Campaign (HIC) today called attention to the link between Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and the Virginia judge who struck down a key provision of the Affordable Care Act this week. Judge Henry Hudson is an owner of the conservative political firm Campaign Solutions, which counts McConnell and numerous other health reform opponents among its past clients.

The Health Information Center (HIC) today responded to U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson's decision that struck down an important provision of the Affordable Care Act. Hudson broke precedent set by two other Federal judges and ruled the individual coverage provision unconstitutional. So far there have been 14 cases decided in favor of the Affordable Care Act.

With a nearly $2 million national ad buy, the Health Information Campaign launched its education project “America’s Fair Health Care.” While the project seeks to increase public awareness of the benefits of the new health care bill, this first ad focuses on the benefits that will take effect September 23, 2010. The ad theme, “not anymore,” refers to the fact that, under the Affordable Care Act, Americans no longer have to worry about being denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition, being dropped from insurance or going bankrupt because they get sick.
"Under new plans, no child under age 19 will be denied coverage for a pre-existing conditions, period. Adults who have been without insurance for six months and who have been unable to obtain insurance because of a pre-existing condition, can apply for coverage under the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP)."
